为什么越来越多的人不想结婚英语作文

Why More and More People Don't Want to Get Married Hi there! My name is Jamie and I'm 10 years old. I've been noticing lots of adults around me aren't getting married these days. Some of my friends' parents are divorced or were never married at all. It seems like the whole idea of marriage isn't as popular as it used to be. I got curious about why that is, so I did some asking around and research. Here's what I found out! One big reason is that lots of people think marriage is just too expensive nowadays. Weddings can cost like 30,000 or more! That's an insane amount of money, even for grown-ups. My parents told me about some of their friends who went deeply into debt paying for their huge weddings with hundreds of guests. After that crazy spending, the couples started off their marriages in a big money hole. No wonder some people decide it's not worth it!

Then there are all the legal processes and paperwork involved with getting married. My aunt Karen said getting a marriage license was a big headache that required filling out a ton of forms. She had to bring in her birth certificate, proof of residence, and even show the court she didn't have any

outstanding debts. Can you imagine having to go through all that just to make your relationship \"official\"? I'd get bored after the first form!

A lot of adults these days also worry that getting married means losing their independence. See, when you're single, you only have to worry about yourself. But when you get married, you have to constantly think about your spouse too. My dad says it's like having a roommate you can never get rid of! You have to compromise on everything from what TV shows to watch to where you go on vacation. Some people think that sounds too restricting and frustrating.

But the biggest reason of all that I found? People are worried about divorce! It's no secret that around half of all marriages end in divorce nowadays. Can you imagine having this huge, fancy wedding...only to get separated from your spouse a few years later? How awful! My babysitter Jen told me about her parents divorcing when she was a kid. She said it was really hard being constantly shuttled between two homes and two families. She doesn't want to put her future kids through anything like that. Lots of adults have decided to just live together without getting married at all. They call it being \"partners.\" My old neighbor John has been partners with his girlfriend for over 12

years! He says he likes how casual and non-committal it is compared to marriage. If things don't work out, they can just go their separate ways without having to get divorced. To me, that sounds kind of sad to never make that full commitment, but I'm just a kid, what do I know?

In the end, I can understand why a lot of people are hesitant about marriage these days. It's expensive, limits your freedom, and comes with a high risk of divorce. Why go through all that hassle when you can just move in with your partner instead? My friends and I probably won't have to grapple with these issues for another 10-15 years at least. But if marriage rates keep declining, who knows? The entire idea of it could be really outdated by the time I'm an adult!

For now, I'm just happy knowing my parents are still happily married after 15 years together. But I can definitely see why more people in my generation might choose to never get married at all. Whether that's a good thing or not, I'll let you be the judge! Let me know if you have any other questions!
