为自己感到最自豪的一个瞬间英语作文
The Proudest Moment of My Life (So Far!)
Have you ever had something happen that made you feel like you were floating on a cloud? Like you could do anything and everything was going to be amazing? Well, that's how I felt on the best day of my entire life - the day I won the school spelling bee!
It all started a few months earlier when my teacher, Mrs. Robinson, announced that our class would be having a spelling bee. The winner would get to go to the regional competition against students from other schools. I had always been a pretty good speller, but I knew this would be tough. There were a lot of smart kids in my class who were really good at spelling too. Mrs. Robinson gave us all lists of words to study and practice at home. My mom and dad drilled me on the words every night after dinner. We'd sit at the kitchen table and they'd call out words for me to spell. Whenever I got one wrong, I had to write it down ten times so I wouldn't forget it.
Some of the words were super easy like \"cat\" and \"jump.\" But then there were weird ones that didn't follow any of the normal spelling rules in English. Words like \"science\" and
\"foreign\" that looked completely different than how they sounded. I must have written \"scissors\" about a million times because I kept mixing up the c's and s's.
In class, Mrs. Robinson would have mini spelling bees where we'd go up one at a time to spell words in front of everyone. I was nervous the first few times, but eventually I started to get used to it. By the time the school bee came around, I felt ready. On the big day, all the classrooms came to the auditorium and sat in the audience. Up on stage, there was a microphone and a panel of judges with lists of words. One by one, kids from each grade got called up to spell their words.
When it was finally my turn, I took a deep breath and walked up to the microphone, trying to stay calm. The first word I got was \"elephant\" - easy peasy! Then came \"rhythm\" which threw me for a second with that weird \"th\" sound, but I got it right. Round by round, more and more students got eliminated until it was just me and Sarah Thompson left. We went back and forth, spelling harder and harder words until FINALLY, Sarah missed one. I'll never forget the feeling of knowing that I had won when the judge said \"Congratulations, that's correct!\"
The whole auditorium erupted in cheers and applause. I had done it - I was the school spelling bee champion! As I walked off the stage carrying the huge trophy over my head, I felt like I was floating on a cloud. All that hard work and practice had paid off in the best way possible.
Over the next few weeks, I got to go on the morning announcements and was interviewed for the school newspaper. My picture was hanging up in the main hallway. I was a celebrity! Well, a small celebrity just in my little elementary school world. But it was still such an amazing, proud feeling.
The best part was getting to go to the regional competition. It was held at the city convention center downtown. My parents and I had never been somewhere so big and fancy before! There were kids there from almost 50 different schools.
I'm not going to lie - the regional bee was way harder than the one at my school. A lot of those kids had probably been studying spelling for years. Unfortunately, I didn't end up winning it. But I still held my head high because making it that far was such an incredible achievement, especially for a kid my age. Ever since then, I've tried to have that same positive, hardworking attitude toward everything I do. If I set my mind to
something and work really hard at it, I can make amazing things happen - just like winning that spelling bee.
These days, there are always going to be people out there who are smarter or more talented than me at different things. But as long as I give it my all and do my best, I have nothing to be ashamed of. I'll always be proud of that moment on stage where all my effort paid off in a big way.
Who knows, maybe one day I'll get my own TV game show where I go around spelling massive words in front of millions of people! A kid can dream, right? For now, I'll just keep studying and working hard in school. Because I know that when I apply myself, I can make extraordinary things ordinary.
