quit的语法

1.放弃，辞去(工作)
If youquit your job, you choose to leave it.

e.g. Hequit his job as an office boy in Athens...
他辞去了在雅典当办公室勤杂工的工作。
e.g. He figured he wouldquit before Johnson fired him.
他估计自己会在约翰逊炒他鱿鱼之前先辞职。

2.停止;退出;放弃
If youquit an activity orquit doing something, you stop doing it.

e.g. A nicotine spray can help smokersquit the habit without putting on weight...
尼古丁喷雾剂能够帮助吸烟者在不增加体重的同时戒烟。
e.g. I was trying toquit smoking at the time.
当时我正在努力戒烟。

3.离开(某地)
If youquit a place, you leave it completely and do not go back to it.

e.g. ...the idea that humans might one dayquit the earth to colonise other planets...

e.g. Police were called when he refused toquit the building.

4.决定结束;就此了结
If you say that you are going tocall it quits, you mean that you have decided to stop doing something or being involved in something.

e.g. They raised $630,000 through listener donations, and then called itquits...

e.g. You can decide whether there is hope in working for mutual happiness, or if you should call it quits.
